RMS Queen Elizabeth<br>was built by<br>John Brown and Company<br>at<br>Clydebank<br>,<br>Scotland<br>for Cunard White Star Line.<br>Launched September 27, 1938, she entered service as a troopship during World War II. In 1946,<br>Queen Elizabeth entered  passenger service, allowing Cunard White Star to launch the long-planned transatlantic two-ship weekly service between Southampton and New York along with Queen Mary. Retired in 1969, she was sold at auction in 1970 to<br>Tung Chao Yung,<br>head of the<br>Orient Overseas Line and<br>renamed Seawise University. She was to<br>be used as<br>a university for the<br>World Campus Afloat<br>program. Seawise University caught fire on January 9,1972 and was sunk in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor.<br>CAUTION:<br>This model was made by fine German model makers Mercator.<br>It is in good condition, but, s<br>hip models may require some attention or minor repairs upon arrival.
