Botched star Terry Dubrow details reason he quit ‘miracle’ weight loss drug Ozempic

Real Housewives of Orange County star Terry Dubrow revealed he had turned to the controversial drug Ozempic for weight loss purposes.
The 65-year-old plastic surgeon explained the real reason behind his decision to stop taking the weight loss drug while promoting the eighth season of Botched alongside Paul Nassif.
Despite being a “huge fan” of Ozempic, originally designed for type 2 diabetes patients, Dubrow informed Page Six on Friday that he encountered “some side effects”.
It was especially due to one side effect that the TV star took the decision to cease using the medication.
“[Ozempic] really took all the joy of eating away,” he explained.

Heather Dubrow’s husband elaborated on his decision to discontinue Ozempic, emphasizing that the weight loss drug wasn’t worth it for him since he only aimed to lose a small amount of weight.
While acknowledging the effectiveness of Ozempic and expressing his curiosity about its impact on non-diabetic individuals with minimal weight loss goals, he highlighted the downsides he experienced.
Despite the drug’s success, he faced “low-grade nausea” and a diminished interest in food.
He recounted: “I thought, ‘You know what, I kind of want to get my appetite back. The holidays are coming. I want to enjoy myself.’
The TV star explained that he wanted to “go on a food vacation,” adding: “I want to be able to eat again.”

Dubrow also stressed the restriction on alcohol consumption while using Ozempic, warning about the risk of pancreatitis.
“You can’t drink on it,” he explained. “You’ve got to be really careful with alcohol because people are being put in the hospital with pancreatitis.”
Despite all the adverse effects and the controversy surrounding its use for weight los purposes, Dubrow insisted Ozempic is “amazing”.
“I think it’s a miracle,” he said. “The biggest breakthrough in medical history.”
